Outer Banks is one of the most action-packed series I’ve ever seen and the exciting moments keep people hooked onto the series. The treasure hunts and near-deaths make the series suspenseful and keep me entertained. Outer Banks season five will be released and it’ll be the last season of one of the most popular series out there.
Throughout the series, John B (Chase Stokes) and his friends chase wealth. He goes through many near death scenarios. My favorite part of the series is when John B and Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Clyne) run away from the police after John B was falsely framed for murdering a sheriff. They went on a boat and almost died through a deadly storm, but miraculously they both survived and have been running around the world ever since.
In my opinion the best character in this series has to be JJ Groff (Rudy Pankow). He has a funny and entertaining personality that makes him easy to like. His stupidity can cause some problems, but overall the series wouldn’t be the same without him. He is the main character’s best friend, John B and if it weren’t for JJ the show could be very different.
Some people do not enjoy the unrealistic parts of the story but I believe that the director, Jonas Pate, uses his imagination and creativity to make the story unpredictable, which is a big reason why I like Outer Banks so much. On the other hand, some people love the fact that they never know what’s going to happen next and that keeps people intrigued in the show.
In Outer Banks it’s hard to identify one specific protagonist and antagonist because there are so many different characters that impact the show, but if I had to choose I would say that John B is the protagonist and Ward Cameron (Charles Esten) is the antagonist. John B has many strengths including his cleverness and care for his friends but his stupidity can also put him in dangerous situations like when he beat up Sarah’s ex boyfriend, Topper (Austin North) which ended up landing him in jail. On the other hand, Ward seems to love his daughter but loves wealth even more as he does whatever it takes to stop John B and his friends from becoming rich. Throughout the show, wherever John B was, Ward wasn’t far behind and the rivalry between John B and Ward makes the show exciting.
To me, Outer Banks is one of the top shows out there but I do have some critiques. Overall, I love this show but I feel as if it can be repetitive at times. The show starts with them chasing gold and it seems like throughout they’re always coming across new ways to become rich and putting themselves in loads of danger to never come away with it. Though the show can be repetitive, I’m still a big fan and so are many others. The suspense and excitement keeped me entertained to watch and I can’t wait to watch the last season as soon as it’s released.
