The Masconomet seniors will soon be socializing and celebrating the spooky season at the upcoming Halloween dance.
The dance will be a gathering for seniors to kick off the school year. The Halloween dance is a way for seniors to bond and have fun, as the setup is a responsibility left to lower grades.
“So generally, the dance is set up by the junior officers and reps who are supposed to do all the decorations,” said class advisor Madison Marc-Aurele.
Senior Class President Lucas Magnifico helped set up last year.
“Preparation should not be that long,” said Magnifico. “The class officers and I helped the previous senior class with their setup last year, and it went smoothly.”
The Halloween dance is a chance for the seniors to make some fun memories for their last year of high school.
“The goal of this party is pretty simple. To give everyone a night to have fun, relax, and just enjoy being together outside of school. It’s a chance to celebrate Halloween, dance, hang out with friends, and make some good memories. There aren’t a ton of school events like this, so it’s something different to be a part of. I encourage all of my peers to attend, as chances like these are only one in so many, along with the people we’ve grown up with for the past six years at Masco,” said Magnifico.
The party is the first bonding event of the year, and Senior Student Advisory Board Representative Clapp expects fun for all of the senior events.
“We had senior sunrise, but the dance is kind of the first more in-school event that we just want everyone to come to, so just to kick this one off and expect fun for the rest of the year,” said Clapp.
The dance is not just a chance to make memories. For Marc-Aurele, it is also a chance to impact the rest of the year.
“Positivity, hopefully the class spirit, and getting them excited. It’s kind of the kick-off for the year. Hopefully, there are no important playoff games or anything that could obviously affect attendance, and I hope everybody buys a ticket and attends,” said Marc-Aurele.
With more events for the seniors upcoming, the Class of 2026 has some exciting memories along the way for their final year of high school.
