When the weather outside is frightful, it’s time to plan a getaway that will help you escape the freezing cold and enjoy your winter break frostbite-free.
With many destinations right here in the U.S. offering pleasant temperatures year-round, here are three perfect warm destinations where you can enjoy better weather, local culture, and fun activities.
Savannah Georgia
With temperatures in the 60s during winter, this charming southern city provides a beautiful and historic scenery with walkable destinations and plenty to explore.
You can start your visit with a leisurely walk through Forsyth Park, where you’ll find large oak trees and historical houses. From there you can stop by the Telfair Museum, which is the oldest public art museum in the Southeast.
I personally liked the scenery of the park, with the shade provided by the towering trees and massive fountain centerpiece.
The city’s art scene, delicious cuisine, and parks offer many activities for your stay. Plus, Savannah is easily accessible with direct flights from major cities.
Nashville Tennessee
Our next destination is Nashville, Tennessee. An excellent winter escape with mild temperatures averaging in the 50s and 60s. Known for its country music legacy, the city offers a mix of indoor and outdoor activities that make it an easy trip to plan for music lovers and culture seekers alike.
I like to tour cities or towns when I’m on vacation, as the shops can provide some unique souvenirs, and Nashville has some really cool shops if you’re into music and instruments!
Visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, or take a tour of the historic RCA Studio B. For something even more unique, check out the Nashville Parthenon, a full-scale replica of the one in Athens.
With direct flights from many major cities, Nashville has both convenience and excitement for a winter vacation.
Key West Florida
The last stop is all the way down to Key West, Florida. Florida is a classic vacation destination, and for a good reason. With temperatures in the 70s and 80s (in the winter months!), Key West has gorgeous beaches, beautiful sunsets, and clear waters.
Key West has a variety of notable things to do, from snorkeling to diving to biking around the island and visiting historical sites like the Ernest Hemingway Home and Museum.
I think it’s obvious what made me pick this place. I love the coastal breeze and palm trees, and Key West gives a perfect tropical feel to your holiday.
Its proximity to mainland Florida makes Key West an easy flight away, and it’s better than freezing in New England!
These destinations offer a perfect mix of warm weather, exciting activities, and easy access, making them ideal spots for a winter vacation without the hassle.
Whether you’re wandering through the historic streets of Savannah, soaking up the music culture of Nashville, or relaxing on the beaches of Key West, you’ll find plenty of fun and warmth to enjoy.
If you can’t manage to book a flight this winter, you can always crank up the heater, make yourself a cup of hot chocolate, and enjoy your holiday from the comfort of your home.
