Masco keeps rolling to wins, defeating Saugus with ease, 4-1.
Junior Enzo Nteta got Masco on the board first, scoring his first varsity goal on a pass from senior Jacob Olson. This goal would be the only goal scored by either team at halftime, proving to be a defensive battle through the first half.
Whatever speech Coach Jared Scarpaci gave at halftime had Masco fired up and ready to go to start half two. After not much time had passed, senior Charlie Olson sent an absolute rocket near-post past the keeper unassisted.
From that goal forward, the Chieftains didn’t look back, and left the Sachems in the dust. Senior captain Jack Fiedler was responsible for the next goal for Masco on a right-footed strike from the top of the 18-yard box.
With under five minutes to go in the game, senior captain Gabe Franciosa destroyed all hope for Saugus by burying another goal off of a feed from senior Jack Savitsky.
The defense was once again stellar led by the three amigos in the back, senior captain Aidan Colleran, junior Nate Mroczek and junior John Green.
Junior Gabriele Russo stood out once more, only allowing in a singular goal and making that the only goal in the past two games to be scored on him.
Improving to 3-0 and staying undefeated, the Chieftains are dealt a tall task next, taking on another undefeated Northeast Conference team, the Beverly Panthers. This is shaping up to be a defining game for both teams.
