It’s playoff time in the NFL, and fans are excited to watch how it will unfold and find out who will win the Super Bowl. The Chargers, Steelers, Packers, Buccaneers, and Broncos were all knocked out in the first round, and many believe the best teams are still in.
“It pains me to say this, but right now I think the favorite is the Chiefs,” said junior Sam Richardson. “I do believe the Bills and Ravens both have the firepower to beat them, but unfortunately, I just don’t see it happening because Mahomes and Reid just know how to win tough games.”
Richardson also mentioned the Lions, who he believes have one of the best offenses in the league. However, he doesn’t think they can go all the way.
“I would love to say the Lions here because offensively they are far superior to everyone, but I can’t because they are just too banged up on the defensive side of the ball.”
With Patrick Mahomes leading the Chiefs and Andy Reid coaching, many think Kansas City has the experience and talent to three-peat and bring another Super Bowl to Kansas City.
Junior Liam Ginley has a different pick.
“The Ravens will win the Super Bowl because they have Derrick Henry at running back, he’s easily a top 5 back in the league,” he said.
Ginley also highlighted the Ravens’ strong defense.
“Their defense is solid with All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith and All-Pro defensive back Marlon Humphrey, who are both very big impacts to the Ravens.”
But the biggest reason for Liam’s confidence in the Ravens is their quarterback.
“Because of Lamar Jackson,” Ginley said. “He’s the best player in the league.”
The Ravens have a balanced team with a strong offense and defense, making them a strong contender.
While many fans are talking about the Chiefs and Ravens, teams like the Eagles, Bills, and Texans also have a good chance. With talented players and great coaches, many of these teams could make a run for the Super Bowl.
Football fan and science teacher Bob Serino has a lot of confidence in his Bills.
“They’ve always had to play second fiddle to Tom Brady and the Patriots. They never had their chance. And then when Tom Brady left, now they have to go up against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs,” said Serino. “I think this is the year that they can actually beat them, and finally break through.”
Josh Allen has risen and has turned himself into one of the best Quarterbacks in the league. His stellar regular season has him in talks for the MVP but a main focus for the Bills and himself is winning a Super Bowl, something they have never been able to do.
With all of these talented teams in the playoffs, this year’s postseason is full of exciting matchups. Many are excited to see how the rest of the playoffs play out whether it’s the Chiefs, Ravens, or another team.
