With so many holiday movies to choose from, it can be challenging to determine which ones are truly the best, which is why, after reading this, you’ll have found out.
Christmas Vacation, Disney’s The Santa Clause, and The Polar Express are my top three favorite holiday movies, ones that I watch every year. I know that when I watch these three movies, I automatically get into the Christmas spirit.
Christmas Vacation is one of those holiday movies that gets you in the holiday spirit. With the main character being Chevy Chase, you know that you’re in for a good movie. The movie is about the Griswald family and their attempt to have a perfect Christmas, which does not go smoothly once Clark Griswald’s cousin Eddie and his family show up unannounced. This movie has disaster after disaster, but in the end, they survive the holidays. This is one of my favorite Christmas movies, because it is a tradition that my family and I watch at the start of the Christmas season.
Disney’s The Santa Clause is another old but popular Christmas movie and one of my favorites. The film begins with a man causing Santa Claus to fall off a roof on Christmas Eve, and the man ends up becoming Santa Claus. The main character, Scott, played by Tim Allen, realizes that before the next Christmas, he must take over as Santa Claus. This movie also takes place in the North Pole and shows the magic of what happens during the holiday season. I liked this movie as a kid because it was a nice, family-friendly film with holiday magic, as well as being a humorous movie. This movie is also a series with two other films in the series.
The Polar Express is probably my favorite Christmas movie of all time. I watch it one, if not multiple times, each holiday season. The Polar Express is about a young boy who is losing his belief in Santa and boards a magical train on Christmas Eve, and ends up at the North Pole. This movie is such a classic and is a great family-friendly holiday watch for people of all ages. I believe what is so good about the Polar Express is showing how the boy goes from losing his belief in Christmas and Santa to slowly beginning to believe in the Christmas magic again. This movie is very nostalgic and really embraces the Christmas magic.
