It’s the holiday season, and that means the Starbucks Holiday Menu is now out, including new festive drinks and foods.
There are five holiday foods on the menu: the snowman sugar cookie, polar bear cake pop, sugar plum cheese danish, cranberry bliss bar, and the cinnamon pull apart. I chose the three with the most controversial reviews.
The three ones I purchased were the sugar plum cheese danish, the cranberry bliss bar, and the cinnamon pull apart.
The cranberry bliss bar is a blondie cake with cream cheese icing on top, and dried cranberries in all parts of the pastry. Along with that, there is an orange zest sprinkled on top of the bar.
When I first tried it, I thought it was good, but once I had another bite, I realized how sweet it really is.
Overall, the bar has 290 calories, 28 grams of sugar, 240 milligrams of sodium, 15 grams of fat, and three grams of protein.
If you have a big sweet tooth for 28 grams of sugar in a bar, then this might be the treat for you. I would rate it a 3 out of 10.
Next, the sugar plum cheese danish. This is a danish with a cream cheese filling and topped with a sugar plum spread.
It includes 330 calories, 15 grams of fat, 390 milligrams of sodium, 42 grams of carbohydrates, 16 grams of sugar, and 7 grams of protein.
I was very skeptical about the pastry at first, not thinking I would like the sugar plum, but the cream cheese mostly overpowers the taste of it, and the danish is also very fluffy and delicious. If this sounds good to you it might be your ‘jam’.
I would rate it a 6 out of 10, because it was good, but a skeptical concept to me at first.
The final thing I purchased was the cinnamon pull apart. It is croissant pieces with a streusel and cinnamon sugar.
It has 300 calories, 13 grams of fat, 35 milligrams of cholesterol, 350 milligrams of sodium, 13 grams of sugar, and six grams of protein.
This was by far one of the best foods I have bought at Starbucks before. It is sweet and salty at the same time, and tastes like a fluffier version of a cinnamon sugar pretzel, and is a good light and airy consistency.
I would rate this nine out of ten because it is very good but sometimes there can be a lot of salt on it.
I think that the cinnamon pull apart was the best one and would recommend it to anyone. Out of all of these, I think the cranberry bliss bar was the worst out of all of them.
