The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl 60 at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California on Sunday.
The Patriots’ offense had a very hard night. They struggled to move the ball and score points against Seattle’s strong defense. For most of the game, the Patriots could not find success running or passing the ball. Seattle’s defense did a great job rushing the quarterback, making big plays, and stopping New England’s best players.
In the first half, the Patriots’ offense struggled badly. They managed only a few first downs and could not score a touchdown in the first three quarters. Seattle built a lead early with crucial field goals, and New England could not catch up. The Patriots’ quarterback, Drake Maye, had trouble with pressure and was sacked six times. He also lost a fumble and threw interceptions, which hurt the Patriots’ chances.
Seattle took a 9-0 lead at halftime, and it stayed that way for a long time. The Patriots’ offense just could not get going. They had trouble finding open receivers and making big plays. This was one of their weakest offensive performances of the season.
Even though the Patriots’ offense struggled, their defense played very well. They stopped Seattle from scoring many touchdowns. Patriots defenders made tackles, forced turnovers on downs, and kept the game close for a long time. New England’s defense allowed only one Seahawks offensive touchdown, and they battled hard every quarter.
The Patriots’ defense deserves a lot of credit for keeping the score from being even worse. They made big stops, forcing Seattle to earn every yard they gained. For much of the game, it was the defense that gave the Patriots a chance.
New England finally scored their first touchdown in the fourth quarter. Drake Maye threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Mack Hollins, and later Rhamondre Stevenson added another late score. But by that point, the Seahawks lead was too large to overcome.
The Patriots came into the Super Bowl hoping to win their seventh championship, but their offense could not get going. Seattle’s defense was too strong, and New England could not match them with points early in the game. Still, the Patriots’ defense played hard and kept the contest close for most of the game. In the end, it was Seattle’s tough defense and solid offense that won the Super Bowl.
