With the Bruins’ hockey season nearing an end, it is interesting to see what their future offense will look like. The Bruins have two young forwards on their team who have solidified their spots for a top-six lineup role, as well as prospects who have shown they are capable of making the jump to the NHL.
During the 2024-2025 trade deadline last year, the Bruins traded Brandon Carlo to the Leafs for Fraser Minten and a first-round pick. Minten has shown he is a great player, as he has put up 16 goals and 15 assists for 31 points at only age 21, paving his way into being the first-line center.

The Bruins also traded Justin Brazeau for Marat Khusnitdinov, Jakub Lauko, and a 6th round pick. At age 24, Khusnutdinov has put up 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points. Khusnutdinov is a fabulous player, and he has shown that he can play with Pastrnak.

Over the course of the season, the Bruins’ 7th overall pick, James Hagens, has proven he can move up to the NHL. This year, Hagens has been phenomenal, tallying 47 points in 34 games with 23 goals and 24 assists for BC as an 18-year-old college player. Hagens is a phenomenal player, and when he signs his entry-level deal, he can be a big part of the Bruins as the team is looking to bolster its creativity on offense.

Another player that has been great this season is the Bruins’ 24th overall pick in 2024, Dean Letourneau. After playing through an injury last season, with only 3 assists, he has rejuvenated himself, putting up 39 points in 36 games with 22 goals and seven assists as a sophomore in college. Once Dean Letourneau signs his entry-level contract, he could be a great addition to the offense, as they need some goal-scoring talent.

In Letourneau and Hagens’ most recent game in the Hockey East semifinals, they proved why the Bruins selected them. Although they lost 3-2 to UCONN, Hagens had two assists on Letourneau’s two goals. If they play together as they did in their last game at BC, the Bruins can be a really great team in the future. With the season nearing an end and BC hockey’s season just ending, it will be exciting to see whether either player signs.
Overall, the Bruins have a bright future ahead, with young players stepping up and prospects showing they can play in the NHL.
