They say that fruits are good for you, but which one is the best? There’s so many fruits to choose from, and I’d rather be efficient with my plant consumption. If you also are trapped in this delicious dilemma, then here is some of my insight to help guide you through this produce problem.
Here’s how this will work. Each fruit will be judged on its appeal, taste, and nutritional value. The fruit that receives the highest ranking will be crowned the victor.
When browsing the grocery store’s fruit aisle, an apple may catch your eye. Their red, round, and a classic fruit. They’re appealing in their round, yet flawed shape, giving them relatability. Red is a color often used by restaurants because it makes you hungry, and the apple is perfectly red. They also can come in slices, which are less hard on your teeth. They are a key ingredient in lots of desserts too, so their versatility is near unmatched. They are an excellent source of Vitamin C as well.
With this in mind, I think it’s safe to say that apples are an A-, and they deserve to be.

The next fruit on the list is the pear. This fruit is similar to the apple, just a bit more acidic. It’s also a very weird shape, and it’s disproportionate body makes it insulting to look at. It doesn’t slice quite as well due to this unfortunate condition, and they taste slightly worse.
As you can tell I’m not a fan of this discount apple wannabe, so I will be generously giving it a C+.
Moving down the list, we have the orange. Another classic fruit, with its thick peel and juicy inside. The one problem I have with this fruit is that pulpy skin that gets in the way of the orange consumption experience. I love the taste of the actual orange, but the skin makes this one a bit worse. However, it is redeemed in excellent concentration of vitamin C.
With these aspects in mind, I’ll give the orange a nice B+. Good effort, just lose the pulp.
Ah, the watermelon. This fruit is quite possibly a peak plant. The exterior green is nice and all, but cut into it, and you have a beautiful red interior. The green also provides a handle for ease of consumption, how convenient. The taste is incredible as well, and it provides a wealth of nutrients such as potassium and vitamin A and C.
Excellent design, excellent taste. Watermelons deserve no less than an A+.
Hello? Sorry, I just got a call from my banana phone. But this fruit does more than serve as a makeshift telephone. It’s also THE yellow fruit, like the first that comes to mind it’s that iconic. Its crescent shape is unique, and the peel functionality is especially fun on the banana. Also, it has its own dessert in the banana split!
Fun design, great taste, and tons of potassium. Banana is an A.
The final fruit I will be ranking today is the dragon fruit. What it lacks in taste it makes up for with one of the coolest fruit designs I think to ever exist. The spiky look really matches the “dragon” name. They really upped their game with the dragon fruit, giving it a really cool color palette, and plenty of nutrients like vitamin C, A, and B, and riboflavin.
This one is definitely the coolest, even if it tastes like water. Dragon fruit is an A+.
It’s a close battle between watermelons and dragonfruit. Even with its cool spikes, the melon has better taste, so I’ll have to give the crown for best fruit to the watermelon.
