Tonight, WBMT will be hosting a Christmas-themed karaoke night at 6pm in the room behind the small cafeteria. The event will be filled with snacks, drinks, and fun decorations.
“ This is just going to be a good opportunity for people to hang out, listen to some music, maybe sing some songs, have some snacks, some sugar cookies,” said WBMT advisor Matthew Chadwick. “ We’re looking to do one of these every month pretty much to the end of the year.”
All people are welcome to come. The crew is expecting a mix of club members and anyone else that wants to show up.
“People that show up can come with their friends or meet new people there,” said sophomore Dorothy Hussey. “And overall just have it be a fun community event as well as reminding people about WBMT as a club and hopefully garnering interest in it and therefore new members.”
Each month, these parties have had a different theme. This month is obviously Christmas and next month’s is a mystery.
“ Our last one was called Goth Night, and then the one before that was a Halloween karaoke,” said Chadwick. “ This one is a general holiday theme, but people can sing whatever they want.”
WBMT plans to host many small events like this in the future, as they have been doing. They post about it on their Instagram page and on posters around the school in order to continue to generate interest and build a community.
