The trending movie on Prime Video and Apple TV, The Housemaid, is the best psychological  thriller I’ve seen and I would recommend it to just about anyone. 

  It is about a woman named Millie, played by Sydney Sweeney, with a criminal past who is desperate for a job. She gets a job as a housemaid for a crazy wife, played by Amanda Seyfried,  and a charismatic and loving husband played by Brandon Skelnar.

  Emmy and Golden Globes award winning Seyfried plays Nina Winchester, the crazy wife. She has been nominated for the Best Supporting Actress award from the Hawaii Film Critics Society and Actor of the Year from the Columbus Film Critics Society. She is most known for her roles in Mean Girls and Mamma Mia. She has stellar acting skills, leaving me on the edge of my seat to see what she did next.

  Sydney has been nominated for awards from People’s Choice Awards and other big places like the Emmy’s. She is very well known for her role in Euphoria from 2019. She gave a great performance during the movie and absolutely nailed her role as Millie.

  Brandon Skelnar has won an award at the Vienna Independent Film Festival for his role in Futra Days. He plays the charming husband, Andrew Winchester, who has to “deal” with Nina. He is popular from his breakout role in the Yellowstone prequel series and role in It Ends With Us. His role was to be charming and charismatic which he also played out perfectly for his mysterious turn.

  The movie is based on the book by Rebecca Sonnenshine that was self-published in 2022. It is a USA Today and #1 New York Times bestselling book.

  At the beginning of the movie, Millie realizes once she starts working for the Winchesters that Nina is a crazy wife. She finds meds for psychosis and Nina always has “freak-out” moments of screaming over little things. This makes Millie feel sympathetic for Andrew, wondering how he puts up with his insane wife, but soon there is a big plot twist to come. When I watched it I never saw this big turn in the movie. Looking back after knowing the surprising reveals, it was crazy to recall all of the little details that gave hints to the twist coming.

  In the future there will also be a sequel coming up, most likely being released in 2027, so get ready for the new adventure Millie will encounter. 

  If you are looking for a heart-racing and adrenaline-pumping movie, this is the one for you.
