The Masconomet Chieftains massacred Marblehead this past Wednesday, 6 to 1.
Offensively, Masco poured the pressure on from the first whistle, scoring four goals in the first half, a season-high in a single half.
Who other than senior captain Mia Juliano to get the Chieftains on the board first. Juliano has had a fantastic first few weeks of the season leading the team in goals.
Junior captain Savannah Stevens then struck one into the Magicians’ cage extending Masco’s lead to 2-0.
Junior Ava Gauvin and sophomore Mia Marques poured it on to end the first half each scoring a goal putting Masco up 4-0 at the break.
Masco didn’t stop there. They came out of half-time hungry to score, with junior Genevieve Clapp scoring another Chieftain goal.
Marques then destroyed all of Marblehead’s hopes, scoring her second goal of the game.
The goaltending from sophomore Sabrina Cafarelli was phenomenal in goal once again, only allowing one goal throughout the whole game.
Masco field hockey is red hot, winning five straight games, and looking to pick up another win away at the Beverly on Tuesday.
