The Chieftains woke up early on the holiday and meant business against the Tanners, winning 4-0.
It was senior day for Masco so this game was heavily spectated with parents, friends, and family, and Masco didn’t disappoint as their offense got clicking early on.
As a surprise to no one, Masco’s leading goal scorer, senior captain Mia Juliano, was able to hit the back of Peabody’s cage in the first half. Coming into this game Juliano was second in goals and fourth in points for North Shore field hockey.
Sophomore Mia Marques has also had a fantastic season as she was ranked second in total points ahead of this contest and ended up putting in a goal for the Chieftains, extending their lead in the first half.
Junior Genevieve Clapp also got in on the scoring, contributing one of her own goals in the first half, which left Masco up 3-0 headed into the break.
Seniors Anna Sophia Bolzan and Stephanie Reed each had outstanding games and were huge factors in propelling the Chieftains to the win.
Junior Olivia Tsoukalas put the dagger in the heart of the Tanners when she ripped a shot by the goalie in the second half, giving Masco a comfortable 4-0 lead.
The goaltending from sophomore Sabrina Cafarelli was stellar as usual, not allowing any shots to sneak by her.
With this win, Masco stays undefeated in the Northeast Conference (NEC) and faces a solid Manchester Essex team Wednesday away at four.
